companies. Unless you are a very experienced cyclist, accustomed to
winding roads and hilly terrain, you will need a vehicle on Salt Spring.
Getting to Salt Spring Island

BC Ferries from terminals at Tsawwassen
(Vancouver), Swartz Bay (Victoria), and Crofton (Vancouver Island). 10 minutes from Swartz Bay
is the Washington
State Ferry from Anacortes. 45 minutes south is downtown Victoria, accessible from Port Angeles, Washington,
via the Coho Ferry and from Seattle via the passenger-only Clipper
Ferry.
aking a float plane is a fast and fun way to get to Salt Spring. If you are in
a hurry to slow down to Island Time, catch a float plane from Vancouver,
Victoria or Seattle. We recommend Salt
Spring Air, Harbour Air Seaplanes,
Seair Seaplanes or Kenmore Air (based in Seattle).
The Swartz Bay terminal is also 15 minutes from the Victoria International
Airport.

end and Fulford Village... all within a 10 minute drive or
less. Get the basics - gas and groceries - at Patersons Store,
and pickup your cold beer and wine from the Fulford Inn Pub.
Sample the supurb eats at Morningside Organic Bakery & Cafe
or the Rock Salt Cafe. Shop for cool and unique souvenirs at
Stuff & Nonsense or Jambalaya. Unwind a little more

The Bread Lady offers handmade breads and goodies baked in
a wood fired oven. (Open Wednesday to Friday.) Sample the fresh produce
and eggs from the Ruckle Park Farm or Stowell Lake Farm
stands. Check out the Cheese Shop for Artisan cheese, gourmet
goodies and picnic supplies. And Laurens' Lemonade Stand has
the best chocolate chip cookies on the island! (Available by pure
chance, watch for the big white umbrella.)
